Full-Time Maintenance Manager

Job Description

Coordinate the resort and corporate center’s maintenance activities for all guest, employee and work areas/systems.
Review property-related data, such as inventories, budgets to obtain information on property status, needs, and availability.
Determine need for purchases of supplies and equipment, equipment repair and maintenance, and alterations to premises; initiates purchases within budgeted limits and/or requests funding as appropriate with company policy/guidelines.
Prepare plans, standards, and specifications for building and equipment maintenance, repair, and inspection
Carry out inspections of property and services.
Supervise maintenance staff.
Co-ordinate the activities of operations i.e. electricity, water, transportation, etc. organization, in conjunction with the Operations and Food and Beverage Managers.

Any other duties assigned.
Conduct performance appraisal/review for all members of the department.
Prepare reports and report to management on a periodic basis or as required.
Take part in the annual budget exercise.
Carry out repairs and maintenance work as approved and required, and also based on administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations
Assist in recruiting and training staff.

Co-ordinate the activities of operations i.e. electricity, water, transportation, etc. organization, in conjunction with the Operations and Food and Beverage Managers.
Any other duties assigned
Assists in scheduling complete work week coverage for Engineering staff
Assists in coordinating and prioritizing the distribution of repair maintenance orders and planned maintenance orders.

Checks and monitors the completed work in order to ensure it is completed to Regent standards.
Assists in making up preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment throughout the resort.
Assists in supervising and participates in maintenance work.
Assists in ensuring that equipment is operated effectively and efficiently by directing and supervising the operation of all running equipment.
Assists in maintaining routine reports by recording daily meter readings and interpreting daily log sheets

Keeps Chief Engineer closely informed of anything that could indicate malfunctions.
Detects when plant or equipment needs repair, or when it is not economically justifiable to repair, by closely monitoring repair history of all major equipment.

Requirements:
Must be able to work all days and shifts
Must have previous experience as Maintenance Manager in luxury resort.
Post secondary degree or equivalent qualification by experience.
Thorough understanding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and deep refrigeration with
ability to quickly evaluate problems and decide on a plan of action.
Experienced with waste water treatment plant.
Understanding of all concepts behind landscape and grounds maintenance
Knowledge of Opera system is also a definite plus.
